Post Myomectomy Surgery with Dr. William Parker, April 2010.

My Laparoscopic Myomectomy was performed by Dr. Parker and Dr. Rosenman. There is a scene in the movie Bridges of Madison County, “This kind of certainty comes but once in a lifetime”.   Well that was clear to me the moment I met Dr. Parker.  My laparoscopic (yes, no large cut) surgery with him was absolutely the best decision. 

I am a 50 year old women who had multiple fibroids (12) removed by Dr. Parker and his team’s skilled hands.  After seeing several GYN’s in my home state of Washington I kept getting the same response - 'hysterectomy'.

I found Dr. Parker by researching on the web.  I confirmed my decision to see him when a friend in California told me she had had her surgery performed by him.  All the arguments to go to see him or not went through my head.  Go to California, gee this is over the top, you have already had several physicians tell you the same thing, etc, etc.  Yet the more persuasive argument was this.  Your uterus has some issues - but can it be repaired rather than be removed?

So, I gathered up all my pertinent medical records, ultra-sounds, lab, etc. and flew down.   In my journey to Dr. Parker, I knew that I really would not know the options I had until I had consulted with Dr. Parker.  You will not meet a more thorough, compassionate, physician.  As my friend said, “They broke the mold with Dr. Parker”.  He is a gift to this world.

My surgery went very well and I will soon be back to work.  My thoughts, don’t  wait, Dr. Parker and his team are amazing.  You can do this; it just takes some small logistic and planning efforts if you are from out of state.

As my body is now relieved of these fibroids I am only beginning to realize the magnitude of the subtle drain they took out of me and my family’s life. 

You deserve to know what your options are in a clear unbiased opinion.  Honor yourself and go see Dr. Parker.
