Bhopal civic body donates peanuts for women’s safety and cow protection

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) has proposed an insignificant budget for women’s safety and cow protection. For women’s safety and sanitation, only Rs 1.60 Crore has been allocated.
The Municipality Budget 2022-23 presented on Wednesday contains insignificant provisions for the conservation and protection of Lake Superior and other lakes in the city as well, for this the civic body provided Rs 2 Crore. However, he set aside Rs 9 crore for beautification of lake sites and removal of nearby encroachments. The municipal body has allocated Rs 140 crore for the development of commercial complexes in the city, while Rs 26 crore will be spent on the reconstruction and redevelopment of BRTS. As much as Rs 2 crore has been allocated for new signals at different locations in the city with this Rs 7 crore for transport, footpath, central shoulders and construction of cross roads.
Only Rs 1 Crore has been allocated for planting. A budget of Rs 2 Crore has been granted for heritage works in the city, by the civic body.
The development of a self-priming portal by integrating it with all government websites and applications, a citizen application and a bill for all services of a property will also be targeted this year, as the budget suggests.
Speaking to Free Press about this budget, Sparsh Dwivedi, Founder and Chairman of Dream Bhopal Green Bhopal Foundation, said, “It is an encouraging step to maintain a provision for planting on the miyawaki technique for RWAs. government and semi-government offices, which is certainly a warm welcome. a step towards maintaining the city’s vegetation cover. Moreover, the arrangement made under the swachh Bharat mission will also give impetus to the swachhta mission and will surely have a positive impact on the swacchta rating”.

Amrit 2.0 Schema: Rs 250 Crore has been allocated under which drinking water network would be developed and water treatment plants would be constructed.
Lodging: Rs 300 crore has been allocated by the civic body under the Housing for All scheme. Rs 6.15 crore has been allocated for accommodation for BMC employees, while Doss Houses will be operated and maintained with Rs 2.5 crore from the budget.
Mission Swachh Bharat’: The civic body has allocated Rs 20 crore to be spent on the BMC headquarters. It has allocated Rs 25 crore for ‘Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0’ and Rs 13 crore has been allocated for maintenance and operation of the processing plant under ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’. In addition, Rs 35 crore has been allocated for beautification and maintenance under Swachh Bharat Mission. . For biodiversity works Rs 1 Crore has been allocated in this budget.
Waste and wastewater management: A sum of Rs 20 crore has been allocated for sewer operations and other machinery and tools for different wards/areas. Only Rs 1 Crore was allocated to each for organic waste management and harmful waste management. The Adampur Incinerator will be maintained with Rs 6 Crore of the total budget. To purchase new CNG vehicles for door to door collection, Rs 10 Crore has been allocated.
