Calderone and Stuart invited to Canada’s National Women’s Development Team camp
CALGARY, Alberta. – Boston University Women’s Ice Hockey Andi Calderone and Kate stuart were invited to Hockey Canada’s National Women’s Development Team Summer Camp July 29 to August 9 in Calgary.
This is the second year in a row that Calderone and Stuart have participated in the annual camp, which was held virtually last year. In addition, 2021 graduate Corinne Schroeder will be at camp after a four-year decorated career at BU.
Both Calderone and Stuart have been formidable in a shortened 2020-21 campaign. Calderone appeared in all 12 games as a rookie, totaling four assists and blocking 10 shots. Three of his four assists have scored game-winning goals. Stuart shined between the posts in his junior season, going 3-1-0 in four starts. She finished the year with a .942 save percentage and a 1.63 goals-against average in five appearances and allowed just three goals in her last job of 198: 11, including a shutout of 24 Merrimack stops on February 5.
The 40 players who will participate in the camp will be divided into two teams and will participate in training and intra-team matches. The camp will also feature two scrimmages against Canada’s National Women’s Team from August 7-9. Additionally, Savannah Newton (’18) will be part of the support staff at the National Women’s Under-18 Team Summer Development Camp, which will also be held in Calgary starting July 29.
