Colorado Mountain College and Roaring Fork Leadership to Host Women’s Empowerment Forum
Roaring Fork Leadership and Colorado Mountain College Glenwood Springs will present “Elevate: A Forum for Women,” a one-day workshop aimed at promoting confidence and success in the workplace.
The workshop will feature three dynamic speakers who will focus on inspiring and raising confidence, collaborative skills and self-awareness both in everyday life and in the workplace for men and women alike. women. The forum will also include a panel discussion and a social connection hour. It will include three presentations: “Elevating Confidence: Effective Negotiation Skills for Women” by Wendy Huber; “Increasing Collaboration: Six Magical Practices for Successful Collaboration” by Nancy Fredericks; and “Raising Self-Awareness: Women’s Best Asset: Emotions” by Andrea Palm-Porter.
An expert in negotiation, mediation and conflict management, Huber will lead exercises, teachings and discussions on building women’s self-confidence and negotiation skills. In addition to her roles as mediator, qualified lawyer, author and rector of St. Peters of the Valley Episcopal Church in Basalt, Huber teaches nonprofit management at CMC and is a corporate trainer for national and international companies and governments.
Fredericks, Glenwood Springs-based business leadership strategist, coach, author and pioneer of gender diverse leadership, will discuss how women can become more successful collaborators. Fredericks will share six basic practices for becoming an effective team member and leader at home or at work and discuss how to build collaborative relationships instead of competitive ones.
From training Fortune 500 companies to mentoring thousands of female executives, Palm-Porter, Executive Director of Roaring Fork Leadership, will host the third session of the Self-Awareness and Emotional Intelligence Forum. Palm-Porter is a Leadership Trainer, Coach and Certified Emotional Intelligence Master Practitioner (EQ-I 2.0). She has 30 years of experience shaping growth strategies through strong business leaders and relationships in multi-million dollar media organizations and the not-for-profit industry. Palm-Porter will teach participants how to use their emotions to their advantage and develop greater self-awareness.
“Elevate: A Forum for Women” will take place from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on November 12 at Morgridge Commons, 815 Cooper Ave., Second Floor, Glenwood Springs.
