Empowerment of women to 1000 rupees: Arvind Kejriwal promises a “fifth guarantee” to women

Panaji: Ahead of the 2022 legislative elections in Goa, Aam Aadmi party national official and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal announced on Sunday that he would pay 1,000 yen per month to all women over 18 and that the Griha Aadhar program go from Rs 1,200 to Rs 2,500, if the AAP formed the next state government.

Addressing the rally in Navelim, Kejriwal said, “As soon as the AAP government is formed, every girl over 18, sister, mother, daughter-in-law, mother-in-law and grandmother will receive 1,000 per month. in their accounts. If there are women in a family over 18, including daughter, mother, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, mother-in-law or grandmother; they will all receive a thousand rupees each ”.

Describing it as her “fifth guarantee” and “the world’s largest women’s empowerment program,” Kejriwal said: “No government in any part of the world has implemented such a program. He said, “What is the empowerment of women? It is women who become financially independent. There is power in money. When women have their own money, they will get freedom ”.

He added, “There are young women who cannot go to college because their fathers don’t have money. They can go to college with that money. Women have their own little wishes and aspirations, but they are financially dependent on their fathers, husbands and brothers. If the AAP comes to power, no woman in Goa will have to depend financially on her father or husband for small necessities. This program will empower women financially. Families who think they have enough money also have the option of opting out of the program ”.

The AAP official said his opponents would now ask where the money would come from to finance this program. “I made this decision very thoughtfully and with complete calculation, because what I say, I do. Goa’s budget is 22,000 crore; if we remove 20 percent of the corruption charges from the budget, which is 4000 crore, we can provide 300 units of free electricity, unemployment benefit, free pilgrimage, Griha Aadhar and monthly allowance to all women over 18 years old, ”he claimed.

Accompanying Kejriwal were the party’s vice-president, Pratima Coutinho, and the head of the Taleigao assembly, Cecille Rodrigues. Pratima Coutinho claimed that the number of rapes in Goa had doubled and that the majority of the victims were minors. She added that a minister in the BJP-led government in Goa sexually exploited a woman by abusing her power. She said, “On the other hand, the Kejriwal government offers free rides to women on government buses and has installed CCTV cameras to keep women safe in Delhi.”

Cecille Rodrigues said: “A large number of women feel vulnerable to assault and harassment on shared buses and taxis and such incidents are increasing especially in overcrowded modes of travel. A significant portion of the state’s commuter population that uses public transport is made up of students. The safety of our college students is therefore important. If you want a safe environment then I urge all women to vote for the AAP ”.

“A huge sum of 12.43 crore rupees has been spent by the government for the management of the events of the ‘Sarkar Tumchya Dari’ outreach program,” said Rahul Mhambre, the organizer of AAP Goa.

He said, “The same amount could have been used to provide Griha Aadhar. There are Anganwadi workers who have worked in this field for the past 30-35 years and have done work during the COVID time. But, they never got the recognition. The state has witnessed four crimes against women every week since 2017. We must stop this chain of injustice against women by voting for the AAP, which will ensure that every woman in the state is treated in a way. fair and equitable ”.
