New Delhi [India]Jul 20 (ANI/PNN) : ETO Motors, India’s No.1 EMaaS (electric mobility as a service) company with its unique 360-degree electric mobility business model, has planned to deploy electric cars as last-mile connectivity for female driven commuters in Delhi Metro stations from August 2022.
The company thrives on the 3E principles of environment, employment and empowerment where the power of women takes the driver’s seat, providing a service largely focused on the deployment of clean and sustainable mobility services. This concept demonstrates ETO’s support for women’s empowerment, gender parity and vibrant communities.
ETO Motors has entered into an agreement with GMR Varalakshmi Foundation and MOWO, an NGO promoting safe mobility for women, MOWO to board and train female drivers for last mile electric mobility services in Delhi metros. This initiative by ETO Motors aims to create sustainable incomes and opportunities for improvement for 300 employed women in the targeted geographical area. Women will benefit from skills development training, on-going mentoring and assistance in managing e-cars, thereby improving their employability or helping them to become micro-entrepreneurs.
After deploying electric rickshaws at various metro stations in the National Capital Region, another feather in the company’s already illustrious ceiling was the award of 300 permits by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). to operate electric cars driven by female drivers to provide last mile connectivity to its commuters. Electric cars driven by women would be colored blue and lilac to increase visibility from the perspective of commuters.
The first phase of more than 50 electric automobile fleet operations would start from August 2022. This is another company program to accelerate the process of transitioning more than one hundred thousand drivers to electric vehicles. electricity thanks to the captive “Green Future” program.
“Our commitment to empowering women is truly unique and is underscored by the fact that ETO Motors has trained 100 unemployed young women to drive electric cars in the all-electric mobility city of Kevadia in Gujarat. We are now adding 300 cars in the Metro stations in Delhi, run by women who will provide last mile connectivity services to commuters who would use the metro service,” said Deepankar Tiwari, Non-Executive Vice President.
ETO’s electric vehicle charging solution – Thunderbox, will be installed across Delhi in various metro stations, residential companies, public/semi-public shopping malls, etc.
