First-Ever Sewing and Processing Unit for Women Empowerment Centers Inauguration by Turkish Ambassador

Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Security Shazia Atta Marri and Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey Ihsan Mustafa Yurdakul and his wife inaugurated the first-ever sewing/processing unit for Women Empowerment Centers (WEC) of Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM).

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) Chairman Muhsin Balci and Director of PBM Administration Dr. Zafar Khan Safdar also attended the ceremony.

The sewing processing unit was established in collaboration with the Turkish International Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA). The finest quality finished items being prepared in PBM’s 161 WEC will be brought into the sewing unit for the necessary altering, finishing, packaging and pricing labeling processes, to be sold in a location centralized commercial center in the capital.

Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Security, Shazia Marri, said the event would serve as a milestone in women’s journey to economic emancipation and self-reliance. “It is the vision of the People’s Party government to bring women into the mainstream to ensure economic stability in the country,” she added, paying tribute to all working women. She further explained that today’s modern era demands innovative interventions for high-quality professional skills and PBM is currently implementing the concept to establish a sewing unit for field and online sales. of PBM-WEC’s finest quality finished products nationwide. She appreciated the joint efforts of PBM-TIKA for the betterment of poor women.

Addressing the occasion, Turkish Ambassador Ihsan Mustafa appreciated PBM’s efforts to empower vulnerable women in the country. The Turkish envoy shared his wonderful experience working in Pakistan and providing support to the vulnerable population. He is also committed to the lasting partnership with PBM for social services.
