“Lipstick is Power” for the 2022 Women’s Leadership Conference

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) — The fourth annual Women’s Leadership Conference was held at the National Corvette Museum.

Women of all ages came together to listen to motivational speakers and support each other.

This year’s event featured the first-ever male speaker.

Scott Harvey of Speaking of Harvey, INC. talked about the importance of communication skills and finding out what motivates you to keep going.

“Let the currents carry you to a place where you can pick yourself up, lean on those around you, and communicate your way through the crisis, because unrelated silence makes it seem like we don’t care. Talk to everyone and make your way,” says Harvey.

Dawn Johnson, vice president of partnership services at the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce, says she wants the women who attended to leave feeling confident and empowered.

“So today what we’re really hoping for is that women will walk away feeling empowered, have that feeling of ‘they can do anything’, find out their ‘why’…that’s really the theme of what is now their ‘Why.’ Why are they so powerful and how can they become so powerful,” says Johnson.

The ultimate goal of this annual gathering is for women to continue to feel empowered, enlighten others, and engage with themselves and the community.
