Navaratra UP Government Shakti Mission for Women’s Safety | Lucknow News

LUCKNOW: Following a call by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state government will dedicate Navaratra to the safety, dignity and empowerment of women by launching “Mission Shakti” on October 17.
Various programs will be organized from the first day of Navaratra to Ram Navmi to reaffirm the government’s faith and determination towards women’s power.
No less than 23 departments including basic education, secondary education, higher education, MSMEs and other governmental and non-governmental agencies will participate in the programs. Uber and Ola will also be partners in the venture. Short films, street plays, a pledge of safety, raising awareness of the Women’s Act and public presentation of inspiring women’s stories will mark the events.
Earlier, during a meeting in this regard at his official residence, the CM watched a presentation regarding the “Shakti Mission” in the presence of senior officers. He ordered all departments to prepare their respective action plans to execute the mission.
He also ordered to set up a women’s helpline in every police station and to strengthen the 1090 women’s power helpline.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said teamwork can work wonders as evidenced by encephalitis and Covid. “Likewise, we will do the same for the empowerment, safety and dignity of women,” he said, adding that “it is our small gesture to express our gratitude to women and girls.”
