Nigeria and Portugal sign memorandums of understanding on women’s development, sports and more

Nigeria and Portugal on Friday signed in Lisbon several memorandums of understanding for cooperation in various fields such as political consultations; Development of women and girls, among others.

According to a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, the MoUs signed include policy consultations; Diplomatic training, research and exchange of information and documentation; Cooperation in the field of culture; and cooperation in the area of ​​development, empowerment and gender issues of women and girls; Youth; and Sports.

The statement is titled “Nigeria and Portugal sign several MoUs in various sectors.”

According to Shehu, the signing ceremony was carried out by ministerial officials from the two countries as part of the state visit of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (ret’d), to the European Union country.

At a business forum held during the visit, during which some of the MoUs were finalized between the investment promotion agencies and chambers of commerce of the two countries, President Buhari described the progress made in the signing of the agreements “as excellent bases for increased bilateral trade”. ‘

Buhari and Portugal’s Prime Minister Antonio Costa attended the signing ceremony.
