Portsmouth, the first UK city to host a global women’s leadership event

6and The ILA Conference on Women and Leadership will take place at the University of Portsmouth next month.

Organized by the International Leadership Association (ILA), it brings together women leaders from around the world to build meaningful relationships, engage in lifelong learning, and advance their practice and research.

Portsmouth has been chosen as the first venue in the UK to host the gathering from June 15-17.

The theme of this year’s event is Reflection and Rejuvenation: Inspiring Women Leaders. It offers a two and a half day program including plenary sessions, reflective conversations, workshops, panels, presentations, and more. There will also be plenty of networking opportunities for attendees to make lasting connections.

It’s a fantastic opportunity for people to feel empowered and energized by hearing from truly inspiring women.

Portsmouth University Chancellor and Group M CEO Karen Blackett OBE will be one of the keynote speakers.

“It is a huge honor to speak at the conference, especially the one hosted by the University of Portsmouth,” said Karen.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for people to feel empowered and energized by hearing from truly inspiring women.”

As a British businesswoman who works in the advertising industry, Karen knows firsthand the challenges that many leaders have faced in recent years.

“In times of great uncertainty, leadership can be tiring,” she added.

“Our panel will explore our own lived experiences and offer insight into how we maintained our well-being in the process.”

Other plenary speakers include Katie Bell, Director of Marketing at the UK Universities and Colleges Admissions Service, and Kristin Engvig, CEO and Founder of International Women’s Network, WIN.
