Send ideas to strengthen women’s safety to Noida Police, become ACP for a day

Noida Police have invited residents to make suggestions for keeping women safe in the city. The resident giving the best proposals will be offered a chance to become a deputy police commissioner for a day, officials informed Thursday.

The statement added that while both men and women could send in their suggestions as part of the initiative, the opportunity to become Deputy Commissioner of Police (ACP) would only be open to women.

This initiative was planned ahead of International Women’s Day which takes place on March 8 of each year.

Deputy Police Commissioner for Women’s Safety Vrinda Shukla said the top three winners would be awarded cash prizes of 5,000, 3,000 and 2,000, respectively. She added that the woman with the best entry would have the chance to serve as a PCA (Women’s Safety) for one day.

She also said that not only women, anyone in Gautam Buddh Nagar district could recommend practical ideas that could be implemented in the district to enhance women’s security and empower women.

According to the official notice, entries could be emailed to “[email protected]” or sent to Whatsapp number 9870395200 until March 7, NDTV reported.

Officials also added that anyone who sends suggestions should clearly include their name, address and phone number in their emails or Whatsapp messages.

Last year, Noida Police launched a similar initiative ahead of Women’s Day to highlight the importance of women’s safety. He appointed Shooter Anshika Satyendra as police commissioner for one day.
