Shreya Hosts ‘Unbound 2021’ Highlights Importance of Women’s Safety in Cyberspace

The main objective of the event was to create a platform for women to voice their opinion and concerns regarding gender equality and digital security for women.
Shreya, a digital platform for women, hosted an event titled “Unbound 2021” at Radisson Blu Water Garden Dhaka on October 8th.
The event was organized to shed light on relevant issues such as gender equality and digital security for women, according to a press release.
The mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation, Atikul Islam, sent his best wishes. Aroma Dutta, Member of Parliament, UNFPA Representative Asa Torkelsson; Shaila Abedin, Executive Vice President of Prime Bank; Farha Mahmud Treena, vice-chairman of the investment committee, e-CAB and Kazi Ali Reza, director of the Dhaka Ahsania mission, former representative of UNIC honored the occasion by their presence alongside Sanzida Chowdhury Swarna, founder and CEO of Shreya, senior officials and the group of members of Shreya attended the event.

Speakers and guests at the event highlighted the need to ensure the security of women in society to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 5 (Gender Equality).
Ishtiaq Ahmed PPM, Additional Deputy Police Commissioner, Cybercrime Investigation Division, CTTC, DMP, discussed steps that should be taken to keep women safe in cyberspace.
Meanwhile, motivational speaker Solaiman Shukhon, actress Natasha Hayat, singer Putul Sajia Sultana and media personality Peya Jannatul shed light on the rules for using social media.
Shreya is a widely acclaimed platform for women with approximately 45,000 active members, which plays a central role in eradicating gender barriers and creating space for female entrepreneurship.
He has made countless lives easier through community activism, mutual support, and business creation and promotion.
Aroma Dutta, MP, said: “I am mesmerized by what Shreya is doing for women and very happy to be a part of this event because it is a testament to the fact that women in our country have come a long way. UNFPA Representative Asa Torkelsson said: “Now is the time to raise our voice for the safety of women in cyberspace as the rate of harassment and abuse against women increases in cyberspace. . The program was broadcast live on Shreya’s Facebook page and women from the middle and upper class attended the event.
