Shreya hosts ‘Unbound 2021’ which highlights the importance of women’s safety in cyberspace

The main objective of the event was to create a platform for women to voice their opinions and concerns regarding gender equality and women’s digital safety.
Shreya, a women’s digital platform, held an event titled “Unbound 2021” at Radisson Blu Water Garden Dhaka on October 8.
The event was organized to shed light on relevant issues such as gender equality and digital safety for women, according to a press release.
Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Atikul Islam sent his best wishes. Aroma Dutta, Member of Parliament, Asa Torkelsson, Representative of UNFPA; Shaila Abedin, Executive Vice President of Prime Bank; Farha Mahmud Treena, Vice Chair of Investment Committee, e-CAB and Kazi Ali Reza, Director of Dhaka Ahsania Mission, Former UNIC Representative graced the occasion with their presence along with Sanzida Chowdhury Swarna, Founder and CEO of Shreya, senior officials and group members of Shreya attended the event.

Speakers and guests at the event highlighted the need to keep women safe in society to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 5 (gender equality).
Ishtiaq Ahmed PPM, Additional Assistant Commissioner of Police, Cybercrime Investigation Division, CTTC, DMP, discussed steps to be taken to keep women safe in cyberspace.
Meanwhile, motivational speaker Solaiman Shukhon, actress Natasha Hayat, singer Putul Sajia Sultana and media personality Peya Jannatul shed some light on social media usage labels.
Shreya is a widely acclaimed platform for women with approximately 45,000 active members, which plays a pivotal role in breaking down gender barriers and creating space for women’s entrepreneurship.
He has made countless lives easier through community activism, mutual support, and the creation and promotion of businesses.
Aroma Dutta, MP shared, “I am mesmerized by what Shreya is doing for women and so happy to be part of this event as it attests to the fact that women in our country have come a long way. They are now talking about eliminating gender bias and empowering them. I believe that groups like Shreya will continue to organize such events for the welfare of women.
UNFPA Representative Asa Torkelsson said, “Now is the time to raise our voice for women’s safety in cyberspace, as the rate of harassment and abuse against women is on the rise in cyberspace. . I thank Shreya for organizing an event on this subject and also for taking initiatives to encourage women to do something on their own.
The program was streamed live on Shreya’s Facebook page and women from the middle and wealthy classes participated in the event.
