The League organizes an awareness seminar on the emergence of female leadership

HYDERABAD – The Women’s Leadership Club Pakistan Study Center University of Sindh Jamshoro held an awareness seminar on Wednesday on “The Emergence of Women’s Leadership: Challenges and Opportunities” to explore the factors of women’s leadership and promote a safe environment, gender equality, rights and socio-economic issues of women.

The seminar was organized in collaboration with the Sindh Police and Women’s Protection Unit, and the Anti-Harassment Unit of Sindh University.

The President of the Women’s Leadership Club, Sanam Altaf Chandio, highlighted the goals and objectives of the club, adding that the main objective of the club is to involve students in positive activities.

The Director of Pakistan Study Center University of Sindh Jamshoro Prof Dr Shuja Ahmed Mahesar in his keynote address highlighted three “Es”: education, employment and women’s empowerment.

He elaborated the objectives of Pakistan Study Center according to the law of the Center and highlighted the performance of the Center in teaching, research and community service and said that the main objective of establishing the Women’s Leadership Club is achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Goal 5 which concerns gender equality.

The director analyzed the challenges women face, including domestic violence, gender discrimination and lack of safety in the workplace. He stressed the need to ensure the participation of women in accordance with article 34 of 1973.

Dr Shuja Ahmed Mahesar explored the factors behind the emergence of female leadership including education, family support, self-confidence and argued that women leaders have proven to be effective leaders in dealing with crises. pandemic.

Women have demonstrated a substantial level of resilience and the ability to sustain themselves under the dangerous circumstances created by the pandemic virus, he said.

The president of the anti-harassment cell at Sindh Jamshoro University, Professor Naseem Aslam Channa, informed about the support available to the cell in the event of harassment. The purpose of this cell is to work on surveys or to help students, she said.
