UW-Green Bay: The Institute for Women’s Leadership supports local women with a special evening of networking, resources and inspiration
Green Bay, Wisconsin – The Institute for Women’s Leadership at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay is hosting an evening of support for Northeastern Wisconsin women at all stages of their careers on Thursday, April 14, 2022 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Weidner. “Celebrate 2022: Women on the Rise” is an evening of networking, knowledge and resource sharing, and inspiration.
On the program for the evening: networking, cocktails and aperitifs; an overview of the state of women’s leadership and career development in northeast Wisconsin (based on the Institute’s inaugural survey in 2021); and a presentation by Denise Hamilton, nationally recognized inclusion strategist and founder of WatchHerWork. An optional mix of coffee and dessert and the chance to mingle with Hamilton concludes the evening.
In her workshop, “Master Yourself, Master Your World,” Hamilton will share 10 ways women can change their lives and careers by changing the ONLY thing that is truly in their control – THEMSELVES. Hamilton will also share practical tips for designing a career and a life you’ll be proud of.
Also featured will be findings from regional research conducted in 2021 by the UW-Green Bay Center for Public Affairs regarding women’s career development in northeastern Wisconsin. To date, data regarding women’s leadership in the region is limited; the Institute seeks to address this need as one of the ways in which it supports organizations and businesses seeking to grow their pipeline of female leaders.
Women from across the region and those who mentor and supervise them, including men, are encouraged to participate in the event.
