W20 to advocate for women’s empowerment, issues for G20 statement

Jakarta (ANTARA) – The W20 will work with G20 engagement and working groups to ensure that women’s empowerment and gender issues are included in the G20 Declaration.

“W20 will work with engagement groups and task forces, in this case the government, to ensure that women’s empowerment and gender issues are included in the G20 declaration,” said the Women W20 chair. Hadriani Uli Silalahi during a webinar seen by Wednesday. .

Silalahi noted that the mission of the W20 is to push for a commitment to eradicate discrimination, promote economic inclusion of women-owned MSMEs, increase access for rural and disabled women and lobby for the integration of gender-equitable health services.

She affirmed that cooperation with the pledge and other working groups is in the form of a joint statement.

To achieve these goals, Silalahi said his administration had organized various side events, including one held in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan. She said the side event in Banjarmasin from March 23-25, 2022 will address issues related to health.
