Women’s Empowerment: Critical to Health and Social Development – Social Media Influencer

As always, a single woman has the power; collectively, women have an impact. Traditionally, women were taught to be competitive with each other because there was such a shortage of jobs at the top. But it is so clear that the strategy is not working. The truth is, uplifting each other and channeling the power of collaboration is truly how women will change the equation and have a whole lot more fun along the way. Research shows that women in particular benefit from collaboration rather than competition.

Many studies show that women who support women are more successful in business. And this is the case of Linda Chinemerem Paul, a graduate of Pure and Industrial Chemistry, who after losing her job as a banker for five years following the takeover of the bank by another, was pushed to go into business. Paul, who is a force to be reckoned with in the business sector, has carved a niche for himself helping young entrepreneurs grow their businesses, reducing the scourge of unemployment in the country and owns ‘Pdf Hairs & Accessories’ – a luxury human hair brand, known for its affordable luxury hair. She is also the owner of “Pdf Consult” – “a business born out of my passion for teaching and training business personnel”. The social media influencer, business coach and mentor talks about the impact she’s had on other women. “The empowerment of women is essential to the health and social development of families, communities and countries. When women lead safe, fulfilling and productive lives, they can reach their full potential, contribute their skills to the workforce and raise happier, healthier children.

They can also help fuel sustainable economies and benefit societies and humanity as a whole. “The feeling of impacting lives is indescribable. It gives me so much joy to see women I have mentored and coached find their feet and soar. It’s like a part of me is just fine. It gives me so much sense of accomplishment; I touched many women directly and indirectly. I recently held a free skills training on Telegram with 14,600 attendees, over 80% of whom were women. I have a free mentoring whatsapp group for women. I lead a human hair business master class where I teach women the A-Z of the hair business and how to make money from it.

This class has trained more than 500 women. Many women have gained free visibility on my Facebook wall which has impacted and improved their businesses” As the founder of Pdf Global Investment Limited which hosts #PdfHairs, #PdfLogistics and #PdfAutos, a serial entrepreneur with more of nine years of experience in entrepreneurship, I am involved in helping young Nigerians to acquire technical and soft skills for the general good of themselves, which puts them in an advantage to earn money My online content covers business development, personal development, online marketing, brand influence, humor, which I have always posted on my Facebook wall and has improved the lives of my followers .

Light other people’s candles

She revealed why she is so passionate about helping women saying, “I believe in lighting other people’s candles. It costs nothing. I am in this position today because in addition to my hard work, people have encouraged me. I believe in paying for kindness. “With the level of unemployment and young people thrown into the job market daily, if we don’t encourage them to do something and earn a legitimate income, we risk breeding angry and frustrated humans who can fight back against everyone around them for their failures.” She talks about the challenges associated with what she does: “Of course there are challenges; I often have to get involved financially. When you see a passionate and hardworking person but they are not able to find capital for her business and she comes to you crying, I usually have a hard time saying no. I try to help in any way. While some will repay, many won’t. J learned not to part with money that I can’t lose anyway. “Again, that puts me in the middle. When I push and advertise their businesses and there’s a problem with the from the people I recommend to them, I get trained. Most of the time, I try as much as possible to mediate and settle them amicably. It is exhausting sometimes. I take the risk of making advertising for strangers to their homes. You know, I meet all these people on social media. Few no matter how good they look, you can never 100% guarantee their integrity”

Overcome Challenges

When asked how she managed to overcome these challenges, she replied, “I wouldn’t say that I was able to overcome them. I just manage them. I help with what I can. I try to guide and advise them on business ethics and integrity. For those I don’t know at all, I ask for personal details like ID cards. About her childhood, she said, “I grew up in Enugu with my siblings.

I am my parents’ second child and first daughter. My parents are discipliners who would not spare the rod to spoil the child. As a teenager, I loved working at my dad’s print shop when I was home for the holidays. He treated me like one of his employees and that made me responsible and hardworking. My mother was multitasking as a college professor, hairdresser, and baker.

I guess his haircut rubbed off on me. I will say growing up was fun with lots of great childhood memories. She advised those who wish to achieve that she does not give up anymore and that she has faith in what they are doing. “There may be tough times, but the hardships you face will make you more determined to achieve your goals and win against the odds,” she said.
